Raiders have made off with cash after carrying out a ram raid at a bank in Southampton this morning. Witnesses at a near by furniture shop in Lower Northam Road said “Three ram-raiders smashed a car into a bank before fleeing the scene mid morning http:///youtu.be/Q8VfNlJI7yg Police were called to the scene by shaken staff who alerted them to raid at just after 10.30 this morning. Scene of crime officer and CID officers have spent the morning at the crime scene. Whilst a man hunt has been started by detectives for the three masked raiders The men fled the scene in a white Audi toward the Botley Area of Hampshire. Police have issued the following : Police were called to Lower Northam Road in Hedge End just before 10.30am today (Wednesday, March 30) to reports of a suspected robbery at the HSBC bank. It was reported a dark grey Vauxhall Astra containing a driver and two passengers had driven into the bank and caused significant damage to the exterior. Three men were seen to then get out of the Vauxhall Astra and enter the bank. They left a few minutes later having stolen cash from behind the till and were then seen to get into a white Audi A3, leaving the Vauxhall Astra at the scene. The white Audi A3 had a ’15 plate’ and left in the direction of the roundabout at the end of Lower Northam Road. The dark grey Vauxhall Astra is suspected to be stolen and has been seized by police. The men are described as white and wearing balaclavas. One member of staff, a 31-year-old woman, sustained bruising to her arm as a result of the incident after one of the men grabbed her wrist. Her injury is believed to be minor at this time and she was left understandably shaken.
