Two people have been taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in Thamesmead. The incident occurred at the junction of Eastern Way and the A2016 on Monday, July 15, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service provided a statement regarding the incident: “We were called at 8:47 PM on Monday, July 15, to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Eastern Way and A2016, Thamesmead. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. The first of our crews arrived in six minutes. Our crews treated two patients at the scene before taking them both to a London major trauma centre, one as a priority.”

Further details regarding the cause of the collision and the current condition of the patients have not yet been released. The Metropolitan Police have been approached for additional information.

Residents and commuters are advised to remain cautious in the area as investigations continue.
