Two Queens Park Rangers (QPR) academy players have been arrested at the club’s training ground following allegations of voyeurism linked to an incident at a nightclub in Kingston, South London earlier this month.
Police Investigation Underway
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests in a statement:
On Thursday, 27 February, police arrested two men in their late teens on suspicion of voyeurism. This follows a report of an incident which took place at a nightclub in Kingston on Wednesday, 5 February.
The two suspects remain in police custody, and investigations are ongoing. Police also confirmed that the victim is receiving support from specialist officers.
QPR’s Response
QPR acknowledged the situation, stating that the club is aware of the alleged incident and that the two players are cooperating with the police investigation.
A QPR spokesperson said:
“Queens Park Rangers Football Club are aware of an alleged incident involving two academy players. The individuals are helping police with their enquiries. As this is an ongoing investigation, the club will not be making any further comment at this time.
What is Voyeurism?
Voyeurism is a criminal offence under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and involves observing or recording someone engaged in a private act without their consent for sexual gratification. If convicted, the maximum penalty is two years’ imprisonment.
Club Performance & Standing
While the club deals with this ongoing legal issue, QPR currently sits 14th in the Championship table, seven points away from the play-off spots and 14 points above the relegation zone.
