The UK government has confirmed that the last scheduled evacuation flight from Tel Aviv will depart on Sunday, 29 June, as emergency flights begin to wind down amid falling demand and an improving security situation in the region.
According to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), five evacuation flights have already successfully transported British nationals and their dependants out of Israel following weeks of heightened tension between Israel and Iran. The ceasefire agreement between the two countries has led to an increase in commercial flight options and a reduction in the need for chartered government transport.
“These flights will end if there is not sufficient demand,” the FCDO stated. “British nationals who still wish to travel are encouraged to register immediately via the Register Your Presence portal.”
Final Flight Details
- Departure Date: Sunday, 29 June 2025
- Location: Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv
- Status: Final scheduled government chartered flight
- Future Flights: None planned at this time
The FCDO confirmed that no further flights are currently scheduled after Sunday. Passengers who have registered will be contacted to confirm their travel intent. The operation is expected to end once the final flight departs, unless new demand emerges or the security landscape deteriorates.
Border Transport Ends
The UK has also suspended onward transportation services for citizens crossing into Jordan and Egypt via land borders, citing very low uptake. Officials say contingency plans remain under review depending on need and risk.
Government Statement
A Foreign Office spokesperson said:
“The safety and security of British nationals is our top priority. The Foreign Office is working around the clock to respond to the crisis and support British nationals affected.
The government has organised multiple flights evacuating British nationals and their dependants from Tel Aviv, prioritising the most vulnerable.
We will continue to monitor the situation and respond as necessary.”
How to Register
British nationals in Israel who wish to travel on the final government flight should urgently register their interest via the official Register Your Presence portal to receive further instructions.
