TV Licence Price Hike: What You Need to Know

Every household in the UK is legally required to have a TV licence to watch or record live TV, regardless of the channel. However, UK residents could be entitled to a refund of up to £169.50 on their TV licence costs if they meet certain conditions.

If you do not watch or record live TV and do not stream BBC iPlayer, you may be eligible for a refund on your TV licence. You can apply for a refund if you don’t need your licence again before it expires and you have at least one complete month left on it.
