Violent Offender from Folkestone Jailed for Over Two and a Half Years

A violent offender from Folkestone has been sentenced to more than two and a half years in prison for assaulting a man and intimidating him after the incident was reported to police.

Tyler Flisher, 21, of Pritchard Drive, Hawkinge, attacked his victim during a disturbance in the village on Sunday, 23 October 2022. Police were called to the Pannell Drive area shortly after 9pm that evening following reports that a man had been attacked and was bleeding from a chest wound.

The victim received medical treatment at a local hospital and was discharged a week later.

The incident began earlier that evening when Flisher went to meet a woman at a public place near Benson Lane. The victim, who was also in the area with friends, became involved in a dispute with Fisher’s group, who were known to each other.

During the disturbance, Flisher inflicted a stab wound on his victim. He was arrested the following day and later charged.

Despite being given bail conditions not to approach witnesses, Flisher continued to intimidate his victim, causing fear of further harm.

After pleading guilty to unlawful wounding and witness intimidation, Flisher was sentenced to two years and seven months imprisonment on Thursday, 1 August 2024, at Canterbury Crown Court. He was also given a three-year restraining order, prohibiting him from making any contact with the victim and another witness to the incident.

Detective Constable Natasha Russell commented on the case: “Flisher is a violent offender who showed no remorse to his victim and persisted in making threats towards him after the offence was reported to us.

There is no place for knives on our streets and I hope the custodial sentence that has been imposed sends a clear message that violence like this will not be tolerated.

I hope that the victim can feel a sense of closure and reassurance, knowing that Flisher is behind bars, and knowing that he is protected by a restraining order upon his release.
