A woman has tragically died after being involved in a collision with a car on the A12 Eastern Avenue near the junction with Ellesmere Gardens in Ilford on the evening of Wednesday, December 4.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m., where officers from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service attended. The pedestrian, a woman believed to be in her 50s, was rushed to hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she sadly died.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed, and they are receiving support from specially trained officers. The driver of the car involved in the collision stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this stage, and police enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
