Woman Killed in Harrow Collision Named as Police Appeal for Witnesses

Victim Identified as 46-Year-Old Wembley Resident

February 27, 2025 – Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Harrow have named the victim as Chithra Vanmeeganathan, a 46-year-old woman from Wembley.

The tragic incident occurred at 9:19 pm on Monday, February 24, on Bessborough Road, Harrow, and involved a car, a bus, and multiple pedestrians.

Emergency Response and Investigation

  • London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.
  • Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, Chithra was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Two other pedestrians – a 12-year-old boy and a woman in her 30s – were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not life-changing.
  • The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Detective Sergeant Paul Jackson, from the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, said:

“Our thoughts remain with Chithra’s family at this difficult time.
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing, and we are continuing to appeal for anyone with footage of the incident, including from a doorbell camera or dashcam, or anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.”
