A 25-year-old man is in hospital after being deliberately rammed off the road and reportedly targeted with a suspicious substance in a shocking incident on a busy East London route in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to hospital. His current condition has not been officially released, but sources say he is receiving ongoing treatment and that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Metropolitan Police source has confirmed that an investigation is underway. The police source stated: “We are investigating a serious incident on Baffin Way involving a road traffic collision and reports of a harmful substance being thrown at a man. The scene has been secured and inquiries are ongoing.”
One hotel guest who witnessed the aftermath told reporters: “I heard a loud bang and saw flashing lights. Then there was shouting and a lot of commotion—police rushed in and locked everything down.”
Authorities are urging anyone who was in the Baffin Way area around the time of the incident—particularly those with dashcam or phone footage—to come forward.
