Fire Erupts in Swanley Home

Firefighters rushed to a blazing house on Victoria Hill Road yesterday at around 3pm. The fast-moving fire sparked panic as thick smoke billowed from the property in Swanley.

Two Hospitalised After Smoke Inhalation

Paramedics treated two residents for smoke inhalation at the scene. Their current conditions remain unknown, raising concerns among local neighbours.

Lithium-Ion Battery Suspected

Kent Fire and Rescue Service believe the fire started from a lithium-ion battery charging inside the house.

“Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a house fire in Victoria Hill Road in Swanley,” a spokesperson confirmed.

“Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.”

“Two people were handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics, suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.”

“The cause is believed to be from a lithium-ion battery on charge.”

Fire Extinguished Within an Hour

The flames were brought under control and fully extinguished by 4 pm, preventing further damage.
