Firefighters rushed to a serious blaze at an end-of-terrace shop with flats above on Hall Lane, Chingford. The fire caused major damage to the ground and first floors, with the roof and staircase partially collapsing.
Massive Fire Response in Waltham Forest
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters from Walthamstow, Chingford, Tottenham, and nearby stations battled the fire. London Fire Brigade received the emergency call at 11:35am and brought the fire under control by 1:49pm.
Residents Evacuated, Road Closures Cause Chaos
One woman and a child escaped before crews arrived and were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Roads remain closed around the scene, with significant traffic delays expected. Locals are warned to avoid the area.

The London Fire Brigade’s Fire Investigation Unit will probe the cause of the blaze as the community reels from the damage.
