Baby Falls to Death in Shocking Westminster Incident

A murder probe is underway after a newborn baby tragically died following a fall from a height in Westminster.

18-Day-Old Infant Dies After Fall From Residential Building

At around 7:30am on Saturday, 14 March, police rushed to Horseferry Road after reports that a baby had fallen from a residential property.

The tiny victim, just 18 days old, was rushed to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead.

Woman Arrested Over Baby’s Death

A 43-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody as detectives investigate.

“Our thoughts today are with the baby’s family,” said Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, leading the Met’s investigation.

“The death of an infant is always an extremely tragic occurrence, and officers are making urgent enquiries around the circumstances. At this stage, we believe the incident occurred within a domestic context, but we are appealing for anybody with information to come forward.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses
