Body found in Swanage believed to be Gaia Pope following Major Search

A body has been found believed to that of missing Swanage Teenager Gaia Pope. This come hours after a massive search to find the missing teenager took place this afternoon at Durlston Park in Swanage. Police officers and Coastguard search and rescue teams continued to search on the clifftop near Dancing Ledge. Police confirmed that sadly a body had been recovered and that Gaia family had been informed. The popular Teenager went missing 11 days ago. Three People have been arrested and released on bail pending further investigation. Dorset Police said they are “confident” the remains on land near Swanage are that of the 19-year-old, who has been missing for 11 days. Officers made the discovery near a coastal path and field where items of her clothing were found on Thursday. Three people have previously been arrested on suspicion of murder and released while inquiries continue. Det Supt Paul Kessell said: “Although the body has yet to be formally identified, we are confident that we have found Gaia. “Her family has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Our thoughts remain with all of her family and friends at this very traumatic time.
