Cannabis Cultivation Dismantled in Medway Following Police Raid

Kent Police have successfully dismantled a large cannabis cultivation operation in Medway, seizing plants worth an estimated £200,000.

On Monday, 20 January, officers executed a warrant at a property in Victory Park, Medway City Estate, Rochester. Inside, they discovered approximately 500 cannabis plants along with growing equipment used in large-scale production.

The plants were seized and destroyed, and police are now conducting enquiries to identify those responsible for the illegal cultivation.

Links to Organised Crime

Detective Sergeant Matthew Sherriff highlighted the broader implications of such operations, stating:
“The large-scale production of cannabis is linked to violent and serious organised crime, as well as modern-day slavery and the exploitation of vulnerable people. We will always strive to stamp out this illegal activity and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
