UK Gifts Decking Christmas Stockings Worldwide
This Christmas, kids across the globe are unwrapping toys and bikes made right here in the UK. Thanks to new free trade agreements (FTAs), British-made children’s gifts are flying off shelves and into stockings worldwide.
Santa’s Workshop: UK Toys and Bikes Boom
The UK, often dubbed one of “Santa’s biggest workshops,” is punching above its weight in manufacturing. Toy and bicycle exports hit a whopping £640 million in the year ending October 2023. Markets like Australia, New Zealand, and Japan gobbled up £36 million worth of UK-made toys in 2022 alone, all thanks to smoother trade deals.
Trade Deals Open Doors to Indo-Pacific Markets
Joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) marks a game-changer. Over 99% of UK goods exports, including toys and bikes, now sail tariff-free to CPTPP member countries. International Trade Minister Greg Hands beamed, “It’s no surprise the UK is one of Santa’s biggest workshops, with British-made presents flying off shelves worldwide.”

Managing Director Sarah Holmes praised, “As traditional manufacturers of the finest teddy bears, we’re thrilled with access to free trade within the CPTPP bloc.”
