British Transport Police are hunting two men after a brutal attack left a man with serious chemical burns at Crawley railway station.

Victim Targeted and Assaulted

The shocking incident unfolded just after 11.20pm on Saturday, 7 March. A man in his 30s was approached by three suspects. One hurled a corrosive substance at him before the victim was chased, fell, and then kicked by the group. The attackers fled the scene immediately after.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with potentially life-changing injuries but has since been discharged.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Constable Billy Burstow addressed the public, saying:

“I want to acknowledge the concern this terrible attack has caused locally. We have launched extensive inquiries, including witness interviews, forensic work, and CCTV analysis. We are working closely with Sussex Police to track down those responsible.”

“We believe this was an isolated incident between two groups who did not know each other, and there is no wider threat to the community.”

“One man has already been arrested. We are now releasing images of two men we want to speak to. Anyone recognising them should text 61016 with reference 851 of 7 March or call 0800 40 50 40.”
