In a concerted effort to curb reckless cycling behaviour, the City of London Police have handed out almost 1,000 fines to cyclists for running red lights in just nine months. This crackdown comes as part of a specialized initiative aimed at tackling anti-social riding practices that endanger pedestrians and other road users.

Since the formation of a dedicated squad tasked with apprehending offenders, a total of 944 fixed penalty notices have been issued to cyclists found flouting traffic signals. The enforcement measures also extend to seizing illegal e-bikes and scooters, with City Sussex Police at Cannabis Farm" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="8247">Police having confiscated 192 such vehicles since the crackdown began in July.
