The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) was partially suspended for three hours this morning (December 3) following a tragic casualty on the tracks near Poplar station at around 8am.
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene
Emergency services arrived swiftly at Poplar DLR station, where a person was sadly pronounced dead. No details about the victim’s identity have been released.
Service Disruptions Across Key Sections
- DLR services were suspended between Stratford and Canary Wharf.
- There was also no service between Poplar and Canning Town.
- Elsewhere, the line continued to operate normally.
Police Launch Investigation
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 8am today (3 December) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Poplar DLR station. Officers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries into the circumstances leading up to their death are ongoing.”
