Former Special Constable Gwyn Samuels Sentenced to 32 Years
A former Metropolitan Police special constable has been locked up for 24 years after being found guilty of multiple sex offences, including the rape of a child.

Gruesome Abuse Spanning Years
James Bubb, who now identifies as a woman named Gwyn Samuels, sexually assaulted a victim repeatedly from when she was just 12 until she turned 18. The abuse included raping the child in public shortly before her 13th birthday.
Samuels was sentenced to a total of 32 years at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, 24 years behind bars plus eight years on extended licence.
Two Victims, Two Horrific Stories
- A jury found Samuels guilty of raping a child under 13, sexual activity with a child, and two counts of assault by penetration.
- Though acquitted of certain charges for one victim, Samuels was also convicted of rape against a second woman.
The second victim, who met Samuels online when the abuser posed as a 16-year-old girl, was involved in an on-and-off relationship with Samuels from 2018 to 2023. She told police that Samuels had manipulated her using BDSM and police training tactics to exert control.
Abuse Exploited Police Role
Samuels began training with the Met in 2020. The first victim revealed that Samuels often boasted about the powers held as a special constable, which he exploited to intimidate and control.
“The control, the power he got, it sure as hell wasn’t consensual,” the second victim told police.
