A bonfire in Dover’s Westcourt Lane quickly spiralled out of control on Monday, sparking a fast and furious fire response. Kent Fire and Rescue Service scrambled with two engines to tackle the growing blaze threatening nearby fences.
Firefighters pumped high-pressure hose reel jets onto the flames and managed to bring the situation under control in under half an hour. Luckily, no injuries were reported amid the fiery drama.

As bonfire season hits, fire chiefs are warning locals to play it safe with their outdoor fires:
- Never leave your bonfire unattended—stay by it at all times
- Keep fires small and well away from buildings or greenery
- Always have water handy—a bucket or hose—to douse any unexpected flare-ups
