First Picture of Aircraft crash at Bembridge
The Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service are responding to a plane crash at Bembridge Airport this afternoon (Thursday).
Appliances from multiple stations are en-route to the scene.
Two people a man and a woman are currently trapped in the wreckage of the two seater pug. Emergency are struggling to gain access with equipment to the pair who are trapped in the wreckage. Fire crews are trying to use a Land Rover to gain access to the crash scene. We understood that the pilot swerved to avoid power line and clipped the lines before crash landing into marsh land One person has been freed and a second air ambulance has been requested for the pilot who is still trapped in the wreckage both are thought to have serious injuries. Police were called to the incident, which happened just outside Bembridge Airport, at 3.50pm this afternoon (Thursday 12 July).
