Three intoxicated men were caught walking across the Gallows Corner flyover in Romford just minutes after it had been officially closed to the public on Monday night (June 23).
The men were spotted by Metropolitan Police officers on patrol at approximately 9:23pm, roughly 30 minutes after the closure had taken effect. Two of the men were seen walking along the flyover while a third appeared to film them. A nearby construction worker was also seen observing the group.
Escorted Off Without Arrest
Police responded swiftly, escorting the group off the flyover and issuing them with a warning. According to a Met Police spokesperson:
“On Monday, June 23 at 9.23pm whilst out on patrol, police came across three intoxicated men on the Gallows Corner flyover. The men were spoken to and have been escorted off the flyover. No arrests made, and there is no further police involvement.”
Despite the security breach, no injuries were reported, and no charges have been filed.

Transport for London (TfL) has warned residents to adhere strictly to the Gallows Corner flyover closure, which is part of a major infrastructure project. The closure has been widely publicised, with signage and diversions in place to ensure public safety.
