In a dramatic announcement, the beloved 90s TV show “Byker Grove” is set to make a comeback to television screens, 17 years after its last episode aired. Despite its name, the popular children’s series was filmed in Benwell, Newcastle, and remains one of the most successful shows of its kind, introducing millions of viewers to household names such as Ant and Dec, Jill Halfpenny, Denise Welch, Charlie Hunnam, and Donna Air.

The anticipated revival, now titled “BYKER,” will see Ant and Dec serve as executive producers, adding a touch of their Geordie flair to the production. The duo expressed their excitement about returning to their roots, paying homage to Byker Grove and the North East region that played a significant role in their careers. They are joined by production company Fulwell73, known for their work on the popular Netflix series “Sunderland Til I Die” and other international hits.
