Investigation launched after knifepoint robbery in Epsom

Officers are appealing for the public’s help in identifying two men they’d like to speak to in connection with an attempted knifepoint robbery in Epsom earlier today. Police were called to The Parade in Epsom, near to The Rising Sun pub shortly before 6pm this evening (Thursday 6 June), following a report that a man had been victim to an attempted knifepoint robbery. The victim’s phone was demanded before he was struck across the head and sprayed with an unknown substance. The first man officers are looking to identify is described as mixed race, short black hair, 6ft tall and of a slim build. The second man is described as mixed race, afro-style short hair, 6ft tall and of a skinny build. Both men are thought to be around 25 years of age. Both men were wearing black or dark clothing. We’re also appealing for anyone with information about a dark coloured Nissan Micra, which was believed to have been parked on Laburnum Road at around the same time as the incident. Anyone who may have seen men fitting this description, or the Nissan Micra, in the immediate area around 6pm this evening is asked to contact Surrey Police immediately using the online reporting system at or by calling 101, giving reference PR/45190058918.
