Islanders hit by Power cut
A number of homes on the Isle of Wight have been hit by a power cut. Homes on Newport Road in Cowes have been left without power. Properties on either side of the River Medina are experiencing a power cut tonight (Saturday) The network issue has hit Approx 500 homes in Cowes in the PO31 postcode area. The cut has left traffic lights, street lights and households without any power. Scottish and Southern Electric say they hope to have the power restored by 1100pm and apologise for any inconvenience caused. More to follow UPDATE: 9.30pm Engineers have been site in respect of the Cowes incident have advised that power may not be restored until 4am on Sunday.
