A jury has heard evidence in the trial of a 54-year-old man accused of murdering a young woman at her home in Glasgow.
Brodie MacGregor, 23, is alleged to have been murdered by Alexander Brennan, 54, at her flat in the Springburn area of the city on August 26, 2024.
Prosecutors allege Brennan repeatedly struck Ms MacGregor and caused fatal injuries. He denies murder.
The High Court in Glasgow heard evidence from Detective Sergeant David White, who attended the property following reports of the incident.
Jurors were told officers found Ms MacGregor in the living room with extensive head injuries.
DS White described the scene as one which would remain with him for the rest of his career.
The court heard there was significant blood staining inside the property, including on furniture and other surfaces. Broken glass, including part of a Buckfast bottle, was also said to have been recovered.
During his evidence, DS White was shown photographs taken inside the flat and described the injuries he observed.
CCTV shown to jury
Jurors were later shown CCTV footage which prosecutors say captured Brennan’s movements on the day Ms MacGregor died.
Detective Constable Ian Murray gave evidence about a series of recordings, including footage said to show Brennan making a telephone call shortly before a 999 call was placed.
Other CCTV was said to show a man identified as Brennan travelling by train from Springburn to the Falkirk area and later visiting shops in Falkirk and Stirling.
The jury was also shown footage of Ms MacGregor on the morning of her death, including images said to show her using a cash machine near her home.
The trial, before Lord Scott, is continuing.
Brennan denies the charge against him and the allegations remain for the jury to determine.
