Man Charged and Remanded after Newport Armed Robbery

A Man has been charged with robbery and threatening a person with a blade or sharp pointed article in a public place following an armed robbery in Newport on Friday. Island Man 25-year-old James Arbery of Carisbrooke Road, Newport was arrested in a dramatic standing with Police late on Friday afternoon. As previously reported Police were called to reports of a robbery at Central trueviagraonline.com Convenience Store on Upper St James Street on Friday afternoon. Officers very quickly located and arrested a man – now known to be Mr Arbery – near to Drill Hall Road. Arbery appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Saturday and has been remanded in custody to appear before the Isle of Wight Crown court on 19th March.
