A 33-year-old man from Cheshire has been locked up for strangling a woman and threatening her to stay silent.
Lloyd McNicholas Sentenced to Over Two Years
Lloyd McNicholas, from Alsager, faced Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday, 9 March. He was handed a two-year-and-three-month jail term after pleading guilty to intentionally strangling the victim and intimidating a witness.
Chilling Attack Followed by Threats
On 29 August last year, an argument erupted between McNicholas and the woman at her home in Smallthorne. He strangled her until she nearly lost consciousness.
Just days later, on 4 September, McNicholas threatened the victim to keep quiet about the assault.
Arrest and Admission in Court
Although McNicholas denied wrongdoing during police interviews, he later admitted the charges in court.
