A murder investigation is underway after a woman’s body was discovered at a private members’ club in Henley-on-Thames. A 44-year-old man has been arrested, and police are scouring the River Thames for evidence.
Police Descend on Henley-on-Thames Club
Thames Valley Police rushed to Phyllis Court Drive at 7:50am on Friday following the grim discovery. The elite club, which features a hotel, fitness centre, and clubhouse, has shut its doors until further notice.
The woman’s identity remains unknown as formal identification has yet to take place. Police have informed her next of kin and extended their condolences.
44-Year-Old Man in Custody
Detective Inspector Rob Underhill said: “The investigation is still in its early stages; however, an arrest has been made, and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.”
