Liverpool Man Locked Up for Over Three Years in Crackdown on Class A Drugs
Drug Dealer Nabbed in Police County Lines Sting
Nathan Slemen, 48, from Newby Street, Liverpool, has been jailed for 40 months at Liverpool Crown Court. The sentence follows his conviction for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin.
Police caught Slemen red-handed during a targeted operation in Southport on 3 February by Merseyside’s County Lines Taskforce. Officers witnessed a suspected drug deal and detained him immediately. A search uncovered a large stash of Class A drugs, all packaged and ready for sale.
Vulnerable Buyer Identified and Supported
The person buying the drugs was found to be a vulnerable missing individual. Police made sure they were safely returned to staffed accommodation with proper drug support referrals in place.
Project Medusa Cracks Down on Criminal Networks
This arrest forms part of Project Medusa, Merseyside Police’s dedicated campaign against County Lines drug gangs exploiting vulnerable people nationwide.
“Slemen thought he could freely supply drugs to our communities, but thanks to our officers’ vigilance, he was swiftly stopped and brought to justice,” said Inspector Stephen Morris from Project Medusa.
“We remain committed to dismantling organised crime, safeguarding vulnerable people, and cutting the damage drugs inflict on our neighbourhoods.”
