A fatal accident at Wallington station this morning has left one person dead after being struck by a train.
Emergency Called at Dawn
Police were alerted to the grim scene at around 6am on March 9, after reports of a casualty on the tracks. Emergency services rushed to Wallington station, but sadly, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
No Suspicion – Coroner to Investigate
Authorities confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner to look into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Train Services Disrupted
- All Southern rail services between Sutton and West Croydon were suspended earlier today.
- Services have since resumed, but passengers should expect delays of up to 30 minutes, cancellations, or revised schedules.
- Disruption is expected to continue until noon.
