A pharmacy manager has been locked up for nine years after grooming and abusing a teenage girl on Snapchat. Shahzad Hussain, 27, lied about his age to lure the victim and now faces a harsh jail term at Bradford Crown Court.

Hussain’s Twisted Snapchat Trap

Hussain, from Keighley, pretended he was 21 to connect with the underage girl. Despite clear warnings about her real age, he carried on with his sickening abuse throughout 2022.

He was convicted of six child sexual offences. Recorder Richard Paige handed down an extended sentence: seven years behind bars followed by two years on licence. Hussain must also sign the sex offenders’ register for life and faces a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Victim’s Family Speaks Out

“The abuse has had devastating consequences for both my daughter and all of us,” said the girl’s father in a heart-wrenching victim impact statement read out in court.

This horrifying case is part of a wider investigation. Last month, Ahmer Hamid, 29, from Bradford, was jailed for raping the same girl in a separate attack.

Fallout and Future Restrictions

Hussain’s defence lawyer claimed he was a man of previously good character who “paid the ultimate price” for a “weekend of terrible behaviour.”

He has lost his pharmacy job and will face strict licence conditions once released, including supervision under the Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The court heard Hussain showed remorse and accepted the guilty verdicts, apologising to the victim and her family.
