Metropolitan Police Officer on Trial for Multiple Charges Including Rape and Stalking

From 4pm today (November 27) until 3.59pm Saturday (November 29), police are on high alert in Lewisham.

What Is Section 35?

Under Section 35, uniformed police constables and community support officers can boot troublemakers out of a designated area for up to 48 hours — but only with a police inspector’s green light.

Where’s the No-Go Zone?

The order covers a hotspot stretching from Thomas Lane and Holbeach Road, sweeping across Catford Broadway, parts of Rushey Green, Brownhill Road, Sangley Road, and Plassy Road.

Why the Clampdown?

Lewisham MPS said: “A section 35 has been issued by Inspector Jackson in the Rushey Green area. This is due to violence and drug use in the area.”

Residents and visitors should expect a tough police presence as authorities aim to stamp out crime and keep the peace.
