Police in Doncaster have released CCTV images of three individuals they wish to question in connection with a recent burglary and act of criminal damage at a local Scout Hut. The incident, which left significant damage to the community building, has disheartened local volunteers and residents.
According to reports, intruders broke into the Scout Hut and removed copper piping, causing extensive interior damage. Additionally, two pizza ovens were reportedly smashed during the break-in. The culprits made off with several high-value items, including space heaters, tents, a barbecue, and a flatpack kitchen that had been awaiting installation.
PC Egan-Wyer, the officer leading the investigation, highlighted the emotional toll of the crime on the local community. “This Scout Hut was the result of ten years of local fundraising. We know how important it was to the Askern community and the amount of upset the incident has caused,” he said.
The Scout Hut, a symbol of community spirit and dedication, now stands damaged, leaving local residents and Scout groups devastated. The police are urging anyone who recognizes the individuals captured on CCTV to come forward, as they believe these people may have crucial information related to the incident.
