A man believed to be responsible for a fatal firearms incident in Knockholt has been formally identified, police have confirmed.
On Friday, March 7, Smith’s body was recovered from the river, confirming investigators’ suspicions.
Coroner to Lead Further Investigation
Kent Police has now confirmed that an investigation into both deaths will be led by the coroner, with support from officers in the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
A police spokesperson said:
“We can confirm the body recovered from the River Thames has been formally identified as Edward Smith. The investigation into the deaths of Lisa and Edward Smith will now proceed under the direction of the coroner.”
