Three people have died following a horrific car crash on the A13 at Wennington Marshes, Rainham. Emergency services rushed to the scene just after 10pm on Monday, July 15, after reports of the pile-up involving three vehicles.
Emergency Crews Brace Scene of Devastation
Metropolitan Police officers joined paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade crews to tackle the aftermath. Tragically, three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth person was rushed to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
Road Closure and Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
The A13 remains closed as police launch a full investigation into the crash to secure the area and find out what went wrong. Motorists are warned to expect major delays and find alternative routes.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have died. We are working closely with the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade to understand the circumstances of this collision.”
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
