Sheffield’s Fortify Team has dealt a major blow to criminal drug lines, jailing three men tied to a £175,000 drug supply network. Baran Aslan, 21, Jamal Usman, 22, and Muhiyadin Ismail, 33, received prison sentences on Friday, 13 March at Sheffield Crown Court.

Crackdown on Ghost, Zed, and Ice Drug Lines

The trio were caught following a nine-month police probe into the notorious Ghost, Zed, and Ice drug distribution lines. This latest sentencing comes after six other gang members were locked up in December 2025, pushing the gang’s combined jail time past 26 years.

Evidence Piles Up Against the Dealers

  • Baran Aslan was nabbed with three phones and dealer slips linked to the Zed line after his August 2024 arrest. One phone logged 153 Zed drug line contacts over two days.
  • He was arrested again days later with drugs worth £1,300 — cannabis, crack cocaine, and heroin — plus scales and mixing equipment found at his home.
  • Phones connected to the drug lines were linked to Muhiyadin Ismail, with over 300 diversions between March and June 2024.
  • Jamal Usman had the Ice line diverted to his phone number more than 500 times in May 2024. Police found business cards advertising drug drops at his arrest address in January 2025.

Sentences Handed Down

The men pleaded guilty earlier in the trial. They were sentenced as follows:

  • Baran Aslan – 4 years in prison
  • Jamal Usman – 4 years in prison
  • Muhiyadin Ismail – 3 years and 6 months in prison

The crackdown marks another victory in Sheffield’s fight against drug crime.
