US Clears Israel Over Gaza Hospital Blast
In a bombshell update, US National Security Council officials say Israel is “not responsible” for the deadly explosion at al Ahli hospital in Gaza. The White House based its conclusion on overhead imagery, intercepted communications, and open-source intelligence.
NSC spokesperson Adrienne Watson told NBC News, “While we continue to collect information, our current assessment is that Israel is not responsible for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday.”
Biden Backs Israel, Blames ‘Other Team’
President Joe Biden backed up the NSC findings during his tense Israel visit. Speaking after talks with PM Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, Biden said the blast seemed caused by “the other team,” not Israel. His mission: preventing the Israel-Hamas conflict from spiraling into a full-blown regional war.
Biden expressed deep sadness over the strike but vowed a $100 million aid package for Gaza and the West Bank. He announced Israel has agreed to allow limited humanitarian supplies — including food, water, and medicine — into Gaza from Egypt’s border.
Israel Holds Aid Until Hostages Released
However, Israel drew the line on aid coming through its own territory. The prime minister’s office insisted no supplies will pass until Hamas frees Israeli hostages. They clarified they won’t block humanitarian aid from Egypt so long as it reaches civilians in southern Gaza.
Biden warned Hamas against stealing or diverting any aid, saying such actions would prove the group “has no concern for the welfare of the Palestinian people.”
Fuel Left Out, Hospitals Suffer
Crucially, the approved aid package contains no fuel — despite urgent pleas from Palestinian hospitals to power generators for patients, including those at the bombed al Ahli hospital. With power outages worsening, this omission could prove deadly.
