Today, people across Waltham Forest came together to honour those who lost their lives in wars, marking Remembrance Sunday with solemn ceremonies and community gatherings. The main civic service was held in Fellowship Square, Walthamstow, following a parade from the historic William Morris Gallery.
The event provided the community with a chance to reflect on the sacrifices of past generations and show unity in remembrance. The service was attended by a range of local figures, including Mayor Cllr Sharon Waldron, Deputy Lieutenant Major Fern, local councillors, Members of Parliament, and representatives from various faith groups and community organizations. The Scouts, emergency services, and members of the Royal British Legion also took part, showing solidarity with veterans and the families of those who served.
The council extended its thanks to everyone across the borough who took the time to honour the fallen and remember the cost of war.
