The incident involving a black Citroen C1 and a black Suzuki S-Cross happened on Loose Road at the junction with Plains Avenue, shortly before 1.30pm on Thursday 11 January 2024.
A woman in her 20s who had been travelling in the Citroen was taken to a local hospital where her condition is described as serious but stable.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who may have recorded the collision on their dashcam or doorbell cameras, or the manner of driving in the moments leading up to the incident.
