Robinson, who previously attended Utah Valley University, had developed increasingly political views and reportedly expressed hatred towards Kirk and his ideologies. Slogans found on unfired casings from the murder weapon included messages that referenced online culture.

Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation into the assassination, with Governor Spencer Cox calling it a “political assassination.” Robinson is currently being held at Utah County Jail on charges including aggravated murder.
