Police launch Arson Probe after Six Shop Damaged by Fire in Ringwood

Police working with Fire investigators have launched an arson probe after a fire has caused thousands of pound worth of damage to six shop in the market town of Ringwood. Initial calls to the fire service stated that a rubbish bin was on fire at the rear of a row of shops in service area. The fire spread across the roof space of six shop units and around 50 firefighters used water and foam jets, as well as the aerial ladder platform brought in from Wiltshire and Dorset , to contain the fire and prevent any further spread. The roof space of the units has been totally destroyed by the fire but thankfully no-one was injured in the incident. Police crime scene investigators have spent the most of the day examining the area. The near by major supermarket Sainsbury was also effected by the blaze and has had to close. PCSO are now standing guard around the effected areas. Crews took a number of hours to bring the blaze under control. A specialist CAF Foam system was brought in from a far a field as Eastleigh.
