Thousands Stolen in Isle of Wight Burglary

Police have launched an investigation following a burglary during which thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen from a house on the Isle of Wight. Police were called to the address in Fishbourne Lane, Fishbourne, to reports of a burglary which happened some time between 9.30am and 6pm on Thursday, September 15. Two jewellery boxes containing earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces were stolen, worth an estimated total of £10,000. One of the boxes is described as being a small chest-type design, of a dark metal colour and with an ornate pattern. The other is a cream travel jewellery box with a leather-look finish and a press stud fastener. One of the yellow metal rings has the Maltese cross design all around the band in a repeat pattern and another has a Greek design cut to the band. Detective Constable Lee Parker said: “This property is along a busy road so we are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area during the day. “What you think is a trivial piece of information could be significant in our investigation.” Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Parker on 101, quoting 44160349262, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
