Astrid Hilton Jailed for Horrific Abuse of Boy Over Webcams
Astrid Hilton, once from Northampton, has been locked up for six years and eight months after abusing a boy from the age of seven. Starting in 2004, she forced the child to perform sexual acts over a webcam to satisfy paedophiles overseas.
International Abuse Sparks Disturbing Visit to Northampton
The abuse lasted around a year and escalated when a paedophile flew in from Canada to Northampton. There, the boy was coerced into further horrific sexual activity in person.
16 Years Later, Victim’s Bravery Brings Justice
For nearly 16 years, the victim silently carried the trauma until 2020, when, now aged 24, he bravely reported the abuse to Northamptonshire Police. Detective Sergeant Andrea Taylor led the investigation that ultimately put Hilton behind bars.
“I am incredibly proud of the young man in this case who has shown courage beyond measure,” said DS Taylor. “He is so much more than a victim – he is kind, strong, thoughtful, and articulate. He has refused to be defined by depraved individuals like Hilton.”
“Hilton is now where she belongs. Every night in that cell, I hope she remembers the prison she created for that boy. For nearly 16 years she thought she escaped justice. But thanks to his bravery, we caught her in the end.”
