Former Supermarket Worker Pleads Guilty in “Star Wars-Inspired” Plot to Harm Queen Elizabeth II – UKNIP

In a courtroom hearing, the details of a disturbing incident on Christmas Day 2021 at Windsor Castle emerged as a former supermarket worker, Jaswant Singh Chail, pleaded guilty to attempting to “injure or alarm” Queen Elizabeth II. The 21-year-old was armed with a loaded crossbow and wearing a handmade metal mask when he scaled the perimeter of the castle grounds.

Chail was stopped by a police officer near the Queen’s private residence, where she and other members of the Royal Family were present at the time. He immediately declared, “I am here to kill the Queen.” The defendant also faces charges of possessing an offensive weapon and making threats to kill. The court will now consider conflicting evidence from doctors regarding Chail’s mental state during the offence, specifically whether he was suffering from psychosis or autism spectrum disorder.
