Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Reported Rape in Canterbury

Detectives are seeking witnesses and information following a report of a rape that occurred in Toddler’s Cove playground, near Whitehall Road, Canterbury, on Friday, 18 October 2024.

The incident is reported to have taken place around 9.30pm when a woman was approached by four unknown men. One of the men allegedly assaulted the victim after the others had left the scene.

The suspect is described as white, of Eastern European appearance, and approximately 18 or 19 years old. He had tight black curly hair covering his ears and was wearing a white tracksuit top and bottoms. He also carried a small white bag around his waist.

The other men with him included two white males of similar age and one man with darker skin who was wearing a green fleece and black trousers.

Investigation Ongoing

Kent Police are conducting extensive enquiries to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances of the incident. Forensic analysis at the scene is underway, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that may assist the investigation to come forward. Motorists with dashcams, as well as local residents and businesses with CCTV or doorbell cameras, are also encouraged to review their footage for any relevant details.
