Huge Wildfire Rips Through Winnie the Pooh’s Ashdown Forest

A massive fire has erupted in the iconic Ashdown Forest, the beloved setting of AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh stories. Over 60 hectares of woodland are ablaze, and flames are spreading rapidly.

Fire Crews Battle Blazing Inferno

East Sussex Fire Service rushed multiple units to the scene after the fire broke out shortly after 9.30pm on Sunday, April 28. The situation escalated quickly, prompting calls for backup from West Sussex Fire Service.

At least 30 firefighters are currently battling the blaze. Crews dispatched include seven fire engines, a specialist Land Rover, and a Command Support Unit.

Road Closures and Public Warning Issued

West Sussex Police have started imposing road closures around Ashdown Forest to keep the public safe. Authorities are urging people to steer clear of the area as the fire rages on.
