A 33-year-old woman was found dead after armed cops swarmed a tower block in Blackley, Manchester, sparking a murder investigation and a wave of heartbreak from friends and family.
Tragic Discovery on Broadmoss Drive
Emergency services flooded the Broadmoss Drive estate on April 19 following reports of a disturbance. Officers discovered the body of Amber O’Brien at the scene. A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “Our thoughts, first and foremost, remain with the victim’s family as they grieve their loved one.” She added: “We have a man in custody and detectives are questioning him as we try to establish the full circumstances that led to this tragic death.”

DCI Barker reassured locals: “We believe there is no wider risk to the public, but ask anyone with concerns to speak with officers on patrol.” Amber’s family has been informed, with trained officers providing them support during this devastating time.
