Cop Jailed for Faking Child Sex Assault Call

A serving police officer has been slapped with three years behind bars for twisting the justice system. Hitesh Lakhani, 42, a constable from the Central West Command Unit, was found guilty at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday, 10 December.

False Alarm Sparks Police Investigation

On 5 September 2018, while off duty, PC Lakhani dialled 999 claiming a child had been sexually assaulted in Uxbridge. The call triggered a full police investigation.

CCTV Clears the Scene—No Crime Happened

But detectives quickly hit a dead end. No evidence or allegations backed up the claim, and CCTV footage proved the supposed crime never took place.

Suspended and Facing Misconduct Review

PC Lakhani, now suspended from duty, was sentenced to three years imprisonment on 10 January. With criminal proceedings wrapped up, police bosses will launch a misconduct review.
