Third Suspect Charged Over Murder of Asante Campbell in Hendon

Detectives have charged a third person in connection with the brutal murder of 24-year-old Asante Campbell in Hendon, north London.

Teen Arrested and Charged

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Monday, 8 June, after attending a north London police station. He was charged with Mr Campbell’s murder and is currently in custody, set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 9 June.

Two Others Already Behind Bars

  • Hafid Abdi Mohammed Omar, 19, from Edgware, was arrested on 3 March and charged two days later.
  • Kofi Abusah, 19, homeless, was caught in Colchester on 11 March and charged the next day.

Both men are due back in court at the Old Bailey on Friday, 3 July.

How It All Went Down

Asante Campbell was found stabbed inside a silver VW Polo after a crash with a parked car on Parson Street, NW4, shortly after 9pm on Saturday, 29 February.

Despite efforts from police, London Ambulance Service, and Fire Brigade, Mr Campbell tragically died later that night in hospital.
